At Augusta Ranch, we LOVE music! We CREATE music, we RELATE to music, and we EVALUATE music! Music makes us smarter, and it adds joy to our lives from the moment we are born. We LOVE music!

Ms. Fox graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, Bloomington, with a concentration in Saxophone/woodwind instrumental teaching from grades K-12. She has also studied voice with Amy Chisholm at Flathead Community College in Kalispell, Montana. Ms Fox has performed in musical theatre productions, most recently with Whitefish Theatre company's production of Mary Poppins, where she played the role of Miss Andrew, the villian, and also got to be a tap dancing chimney sweep...Ms. Fox is crazy about the musical "Wicked", and she LOVES to make music with her students!

Dear Augusta Ranch Music Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2018-19 year in General Music! My name is Laura Fox.

I am thrilled to be starting my second year as the General Music Teacher  at our school, and am excited to

              help your children develop musically!

Students in grades K-6 have music class for 40 minutes, once per week, with an extra 30 minutes on a rotating

“Flex” day cycle.  We have 2 additional music teachers who travel from other campuses to teach music, as we

are a large campus- Mrs. Jennifer Watkins, and Mrs. Nancy Beasley. These 2 ladies are amazing teachers!

In our music classes, your children are taught to “Create, Relate, and Evaluate” music through many varied

activities, according to Arizona State and GPS standards.  It is my hope that your children learn to ENJOY music in

              their own unique way!

Stay tuned for concert dates, as each grade level from K-4 will be performing for you this year!

Choir will be offered this year as well, with rehearsals once per week, from 7:30 am-8:30 am- Permission forms

and times will be sent home with more information at a later date.

If your student is in 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th Grade, they will be working on recorder playing during second semester.

Information will be forthcoming, regarding purchase of recorders and books for class.
